Everything you need to know about the ThermoPure™ recovery range

About ThermoPure™

ThermoPure™ Recovery Bath Minerals are a mineral blend for a warm bath, a cold plunge, or a foot and hand soak. The formula contains pharmaceutical-grade magnesium chloride, Dead Sea salt, OptiMSM®, menthol and Australian botanicals.

Unlike basic bath salts, the formula is built around a thermal contrast: you feel both cooling and warming sensations as different ingredients come through. That works in a warm bath as well as a cold plunge.

It is the order you notice the ingredients in. Menthol comes through first as a cooling note. The ThermoPure™ Complex warms underneath it, which is the contrast the formula is built around. The minerals — magnesium chloride and Dead Sea salt — are in the water throughout. Afterwards you are left with the kunzea oil and its scent on your skin.

We list the papers we read on our science page, along with what each one actually studied. They are studies of cold water immersion and of individual minerals, not of ThermoPure™ — where a study's method differs from how you would use this product, we say so there rather than glossing over it.

Anyone with a body that gets tired. It is used after training and after long days on your feet — in a warm bath, a cold plunge, or a basin for a foot and hand soak.

Usage & Dosage

One full pouch. ThermoPure™ Recovery Bath Minerals is a single-use formula: 250g is dosed for one soak in a standard bath or cold plunge tub. For a foot and hand basin you can use part of a pouch and reseal the rest.

Whatever temperature you already soak at. The formula dissolves in warm and cold water alike. If you are following cold water immersion protocols, the research we cite on our science page used 10-15°C for 10-15 minutes — that is the study's protocol, not our instruction.

It is made for immersion, where the minerals are dissolved in water your body sits in. In a shower most of it goes down the drain before it dissolves. A basin for your feet and hands works better than a shower if you do not have a tub.

That is your call and depends on the water temperature and your experience with cold. Start short. If you are new to cold water immersion, build up gradually, and talk to your doctor first if you have a heart condition or circulatory problems.

A hot bath, yes — it is one of the three ways the product is meant to be used, alongside a cold plunge and a foot and hand soak. Not a sauna: there is no water to dissolve it in.

Ingredients

ThermoPure™ Recovery Bath Minerals contains Magnesium Chloride, Dead Sea Salt, OptiMSM®, Menthol, Australian Kunzea Oil, and our proprietary ThermoPure™ Complex.

OptiMSM® is a branded, distilled grade of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) — an organic sulfur compound. Distillation is the purification step that separates it from crystallised MSM. It is an odourless white crystal and dissolves in water.

They are different compounds: Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate, ours is magnesium chloride. Magnesium chloride is the more soluble of the two and is the grade used in pharmaceutical applications. It is also hygroscopic, which is why the flakes clump — see Product Care below.

Yes. All ingredients are plant-derived or mineral-based. We do not conduct animal testing on any of our products.

ThermoPure™ is free from common allergens including gluten, dairy, soy, and nuts. It does contain menthol and kunzea oil, which some people react to on skin. If you have specific sensitivities to any listed ingredient, patch test first or check with your doctor.

Product Care

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Always reseal the pouch after each use to maintain freshness and prevent moisture absorption.

ThermoPure™ has a 24-month shelf life from the manufacturing date when stored properly. The best-before date is printed on each pouch.

Yes, this is completely normal. Magnesium chloride is hygroscopic, meaning it naturally attracts moisture from the air. Clumping doesn't affect performance or quality. Simply break up any clumps before use.
